This is the product of a workshop I participated in at the Art Students League in Tunisian Collaborative Painting. In this art form, groups of four or five paint large paintings together without speaking. Anyone is allowed to paint over anyone else's work at anytime. It is a beautiful experience.
This is my mural which I painted with eleven young people in Harlem and the teaching artist Sergio Perez with Creative Arts Workshops For Kids. Each young person painted his/her face onto the mural. It is located on 125th Street and Lenox Avenue.
this painting is called "yhi" named after the australian aboriginal goddess worshipped by the karraur people. yhi is the goddess of light and creation. she slept in the dreamtime and created the world when she awoke and brought light into the universe.
